This thesis focuses on the quantitative analysis and applications of sharp edge acoustic streaming. It presents a systematic investigation combining numerical simulations and experiments. Theoretical results demonstrate the transition of streaming flow from symmetric to asymmetric regimes under large amplitude excitation. A body force model is proposed for the inhomogeneous field effect, providing design guidelines for controlled streaming. Experimentally, the cooling effect induced by sharp edge acoustic streaming is observed and characterized using a dimensionless number. In addition, a particle manipulation strategy is developed based on inertial mechanisms, enabling high-throughput operation in confined channels without relying on acoustic radiation forces or centrifugal effects. These results highlight the rich physics of sharp edge acoustic streaming and its potential for practical applications.
